I have been with the London office of this agency since September and had lots of work as a TA/LSA, and have been paid at very competitive rates. Having worked with many agencies and liased with dozens of agency staff I can wholeheartedly say that John Canning and TARA Recruitment have been been nothing short of outstanding. Always professional, caring, contientious not to mention the obvious, a great rate of pay and solid relationships with various schools around London. I have always felt looked after. Have had no work so far. Registered as a teacher and was willing to accept teaching assistant work. So many calls were made and nothing! I was quite despondent. My recommendation is to avoid, avoid and you guessed it… avoid!

My main reason for leaving Tara is that they made loads of promises, none of which transpired. Every time I called my consultant was busy, never called me back and when my timesheets were confirmed I still did not get paid. In the beginning all seemed well, but I soon realised I was just another number in the big pool of teachers they find. No personality at all.

As a supply teacher I have been busy almost every day since I started in March. Every member of the team I have spoken to has been considerate, polite, and above all honest. TARA have continued to impress me with their service. Talking to other supply teachers an agency like this is a rarity but I believe it shouldn't be. The simple touch of everyone knowing my name when I call makes everything seem personal, like doctors in the old days! There are so many positive things I could say but this box isn't enough.

I found TARA as a very honest and reliable agency compared to the others. With my foreign degree I struggled to start working at schools. TARA was the first agency that put me into schools and helped to get the experience needed to become a fully qualified teacher. The staff (especially Lesley and Laura) is always there to help, support and listen to your needs and try to fit you into nice schools. It is a pleasure to be working with you!

Since leaving a full time job In a school that made me very un happy, meeting Lesley Sydrick, I felt a glimmer of hope. She listened to me and I felt she was genuinely interested in what I had to say. We are now in regular contact during the week where she sends me jobs for the week and wakes me in a morning where I go into schools last minute, when teachers are poorly. I often email her in the week to thank her for the work as the schools I work in are lovely, welcoming and supportive. I always thought having lots of new sets of children each day would be daunting but with a drama background I throw myself into it and love seeing new faces everyday, when I get to see them for a second time I leap out of bed! I have gained so much experience in a range of different schools and settings around Telford and wolverhampton and I am now loving what I do again! I even enjoy the marking again! It's crazy. I want to thank both Laura Hadebe and Lesley for being so approachable and friendly. They make me so happy I chose their company. They are an asset to TARA. Thanks so much for making me feel like I can do anything !

All the staff at Tara both Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton branches are very warm and welcoming. They have found me work and have supported me throughout the whole journey. It has been a really enjoyable experience. I would recommend them to anyone looking for supply or anyone who needs help finding a permanent position.
