The first time I decided to come to the UK signed with one agency and wasn’t getting work. One of my friends told me about Impact and ever since I signed up with them I have had work every single day! The pay is great and the staff is friendly..

Overall, I would say that my experience teaching overseas with Impact Teachers was a positive one. They were very helpful in the first few weeks of me coming to the UK with finding a place to live and making me feel welcome. I was also happy with the amount of work I was called for as a supply. I was promised at least 4 days of work a week and I definitely received that, if not more! I found the employees professional when I dealt with them through email and on the phone. I was also very grateful at how understanding Impact was when I needed time off. I was very ill in December and had to miss 4 days of work. The employees at Impact were very understanding about this and I did not feel pressured to go back to work when I was still feeling ill. Since I had a good experience with this company, I would recommend Impact Teachers to other teachers wishing to teach overseas.

Working with Impact for the last couple months and my experience from the start has been a very rewarding and satisfying one. I have found the staff to be very polite, accommodating and efficient and they always go way beyond the call of duty to ensure that our needs are met. I think what stands out with Impact is also the very personalised manner in which they treat and interface with each teacher as a professional.

I believe that Impact could improve their service by having one point of contact for a teacher. I found a lot of the time that I would tell one employee at Impact something and have to tell three others the exact same thing. It would be much easier for each teacher to have one person they can direct questions or concerns to.

This last year has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life...moving over to the UK by myself, starting a new career and not knowing anyone over here was an extremely scary and intimidating decision. But I was welcomed into a school that I now call my second home. All of the staff have been extremely supportive in helping me settle both socially and professionally. I found the first few months difficult as working with children with challenging behaviors was much more difficult then I had expected but having constant support from both my colleagues and the staff at Impact helped me realize that I was capable of overcoming anything. Overall I cannot stress enough how wonderful, caring, kind and supportive the staff at Impact have been. -Amy

Moving to a new country with limited resources is always an overwhelming and scary decision. Though I started at Impact Teachers as a supply, after only a few days of covering at my current school I knew this was where I wanted to be. This Special Education school is nothing like schools I've worked/volunteered at in Canada. The facility is miraculous! Complete with soft play room, multisensory room, therapy rooms and a hydro therapy pool- all of the students individual needs are being met one way or another. Because we are such a small school, the communication and support among staff is second to none. I am able to have actual meaningful conversations about my students needs to other teachers, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, my Senior Management Team and the Head Teacher. The community within this educational environment is hard working, positive and resourceful. I am so fortunate to have been provided with this opportunity to work with such a highly motivated team that are so student driven and happy to help new staff! Andrea Crocco

I was promised things but when the time came, they were false. Not really interested in me. Said they will get in touch but never really got back to me. I had to chase them up constantly. If you're forced to work then consider it. But do not trust a word they say.

I have enjoyed working as a Teacher through Impact Teachers, it's been really beneficial meeting the team - in particular the Consultants that have taken the time and effort to keep me in employment. I can definitely say that any additional progress that I have made within the last 2 years of my teaching practice, owes its gratitude to Impact Teachers. It's been a bit challenging at times - but I would certainly say that each time I've ever needed any advice, or positive suggestions towards professional ethics in good teaching, Impact Teachers have always listened to my concerns, or needs, and provided me with the best outcome. In short - Impact Teachers are a definite favourite amongst any other teaching agency that I have been with... I like Impact, you guys are great! Many Thanks - Jermaine K. Newby

Hi, my name in Lindsey. I moved to London from Canada about 7 months ago; however, my journey with Impact began well before. From the initial interview in my hometown to regular phone calls/e-mails, Impact was there to support me. Their staff were extremely friendly and genuinely cared about how things were coming along (e.g., paperwork, flights, emotions). Although there was a lot to do, they did not overwhelm me with information that could be saved for later (unless I specifically inquired). For a self-proclaimed “worry wart”, this was greatly appreciated! Upon arrival in London, Impact met with me right away to get the ball rolling in this big, new city. They briefed me on a typical school day, setting up bank accounts and payments, good places (and not so good places) to live, and other smaller, but crucial details. As for work, I have been in the same school for the past 6 months. I don’t miss the 7am phone calls from Impact as a day-to-day supply, but I will say that when I did receive them, they were pretty pleasant for that early hour! Of course, not every day living and working in London is a stroll in the park. I have been challenged as a person and a teacher more than ever before, but that’s exactly the reason I moved. After only 7 months in this city, I look back on all the places I have travelled and people I have met, and can honestly say that the bumps in the road are well worth it! Lindsey McEwen

The Impact Team has been just incredible, very professional and prompt service. Everyone who I have met and worked with was so full of positive energy, and they were personable, welcoming, and efficient with their roles. As I was completing my teaching degree they were doing all of the dirty work and made this life changing experience possible for me. The only downside would be the money, which is not bad but it could be better. However, any good teacher would agree, we are not in this profession for the money, we are in it for the kids. Impact also organizes a trip to Uganda and they have made that dream come true as well! Very impressed and highly recommended.

Impact Teachers are very good;, they are in constant contact with me and have answered all my emails virtually immediately. They have also been very helpful with getting me settled in the U.K for example, answering questions in regards to services and sending someone to pick me up at the airport. They also helped me get my national insurance number. Jerry Topalovski

Impact has been very helpful throughout my transitions. The agency operates more like a family than an office. They take care of you and ensure you feel good like a mother would. They protect your best interests as a father would. They annoy you like a sibling, persistent in encouraging you to complete your red tape. I found it very helpful when the agency ensured a smooth transition by informing the teachers of all the documents they needed, how tubes work and how to find a home. Carri Ann Smith
