I work exclusively for Tradewind and have done for around 18 months. We have developed an excellent working relationship based on honesty and integrity. Tradewind strike the right balance in matching the best teacher for the school and vice versa. I have worked in many fantastic schools across Greater Manchester, and have developed good relationships with them where I am asked to return on a regular basis. Part of the reason for this is Tradewind are respected by the schools and it is clear that there is good communication between the agency and the school staff. There is no 'hard sell' with Tradewind; I have never been made to feel like a 'number' (unlike one agency I worked for); they have great rates of pay; they are friendly and welcoming; they will listen to exactly what you want and will not try to 'mould' you into a position you don't want; they have a well developed professional development programme which is led by well trained staff; and lastly...they have great candidate parties! I would highly recommend working for Tradewind Recruitment in Manchester.

Tradewind have been brilliant since the moment I signed up with them. They are really efficient in getting things done. They are a good team that work closely together. I have never really had any problems because they have always been honest and hard working from the start.

I have worked exclusively with Tradewind since February 2013 and they have been helpful, friendly and supportive throughout the whole time. I am FE trained so do not have QTS but I do have > 20 years experience of teaching and a wealth of real world common sense! They have been honest about the type of work I could hope to get and helpful in suggesting roles I perhaps wouldn't have considered. My consultant (Kenny) knows my strengths and has recommended me to schools based on that knowledge so I have had a lot of repeat bookings and gained loads of experience. I am now placed in a lovely school in a long term position but Kenny still occasionally calls for a chat to see how I'm doing - when I was doing day to day work he called daily to ask how I had got on and to share any feedback he'd had, he makes me feel valued which I appreciate a lot.

I have worked with Tradewind Recruitment (Manchester) since June 2013 having left full-time teaching after 32 years in the profession. I have been very impressed by the level of professionalism and openness demonstrated particularly by the two consultants I have most contact with. I have worked as many days as I have wanted to and I know that they are actively looking for work for me. They are always accessible by phone if I need to talk to them and they contact me regularly to keep me fully informed about possible work. I appreciate the fact that good relationships with their teachers and schools are obviously important to them. They also clearly respect and value my experience (and make sure this is reflected in my pay rate!) I genuinely think that Tradewind (Manchester) is an excellent teaching agency and although I am signed on with another, I have chosen not to work for them as my loyalty is now to Tradewind! I would recommend anyone looking for an agency in Manchester to try Tradewind. In spite of a high level of initial anxiety, my first few months of supply work have been real pleasure.

I have been with the manchester branch if this agency for a few months now and I have been kept fairly busy. The staff are very friendly and approachable and do all they can to make sure a placement is just right for you. The best agency I have come across.

I have been signed with Tradewind (Manchester) since January and held a long term position until the summer, and am now carrying out day to day supply. They are very honest with you about the schools that you may work, and are open and listen to what you have to say. I requested work in advance as I have to use public transport and they have been very good with meeting my needs. I do not have a bad word to say about Ben/Amy and am very happy with the agency.

I came from Australia in December 2013, and have worked every possible day since. I basically work full-time with this agency there seems to be plenty of work. Honestly the first two weeks of each term can be quiet yet I do still get majority of weeks, after those two weeks its full-time work. I work with the Manchester branch which has schools all over Greater Manchester. Ben, Kenny and Mark I have mainly dealt with at the office and have had no issues. They are very honest about the schools if they are a little tough they will say so, so they do also give you an idea of where you are going. They are very mindful of the schools location if you're on public transport like I am. I have never ever had any pay issues with this agency I always get paid weekly on Friday. Sometimes I feel that the rate could be higher yet I know its in line with other Manchester agencies. I strongly recommend this agency if you are thinking of coming to Manchester to do relief.

Wow. These guys reminded me of Globogym from Dodgeball. They were high pressure, high intensity sales people who promise the world but did not listen to you. I was offered & promised plenty of work in positions that I have no experience or qualifications in in despite me stating that I am a SEN teacher. They continued with the same high pressure approach. When I told them I had a job at through a different agency I was told I should leave as they would find a better job.

Let this be a warning for you all, there are so many agencies to choose from in the Birmingham region and I have had the misfortune of registering with tradewind. Had the misfortune of dealing with a jumped up individual whom I can only imagine has academic qualifications or real experience in running a successful company. Sharonjeet made promises and after months of wait I had registered with a local city centre firm that found me regular employment with a week. Just goes to show that anything is possible if you look hard enough.

Have been with Tradewind since August. Although signing up took me 7 weeks due to (obligatory) criminal history and reference checks, it was worth the wait. Staff is very welcoming, honest and everyone responses to queries the same day. I have been impressed with my consultants, as they are absolutely sincere about schools. Day to day work was only ok, since I sometimes would not find work for a week in September. Nevertheless, I got a permanent job through TWR the same month and am now looking forward to work with them as a NQT. In general: very happy.

I am canadian and I arrived in the UK 6 months ago. I decided to come to the UK as Tradewind was pretty much offering me plenty of work! Since the day I registered with them, they have never given me 1 single day of work! The consultants do not answer my emails and everytime I call the office someone says they are busy and they will call me later, NEVER HAPPENS! WORST AGENCY I have ever registered with!

I registered with them on August. The consultant told my for a permanent potsion for September. I called them on September and he didn't reply. After they emailed me for a place that is very far. The called for this and said that is near and I sent them again my cv. Nothing happened. 2 weeks before he called me and asked me for work when I told him that I am waiting an answer from another school that another agency sent me, he told me for a local school that he can sent me for an Interview. I said that I will call him when I will know, he called me the next day but I wasn't able to answer.Even supply they didn't offer me. I think is good company but may not have too much work.

Birmingham office was very professional service when registering. Wanted to promote my profile across the Midlands for long term work. However, did not get any work through Tradewind either for day-to-day or long term.

Joined Tradewind (Manchester Office) in November 2012, it is now October 2013 and I have had no work from them. They are one big joke! They at first did not want to register me as I had no work references for the previous 2 years as I had been out of work due to illness. A complaint to the Recruitment & Employment Confederation about Tradewind soon sorted that out! (Tradewind tried to blame their decision on the Quality Mark) I contacted them during this summer saying I was available for work but within the past 10 days they say that I need to re-register but cannot as I have no work references within the past year. Not my fault I told them, you have not given me any work. The branch manager said that he could not risk re-registering me just in case I got placed and say there was a complaint made about me. You can imagine my response, what, so I would not act professionally, is that what you are saying?. He tried to blame this on the new REC Quality Mark! I am now meeting with my local Job Centre and MP to complain about Tradewind. I have also been told by ACAS to look into filing a civil law suit against Tradewind/Sanza.

THIS IS A WARNING TO ANY OVERSEAS TRAINED TEACHER THINKING OF REGISTERING WITH TRADEWIND (who really should rename themselves TRADERS ). Before leaving Melbourne I was promised by two of their agents that there would be plenty of supply work in London and that even if they could not secure me a long-term position, they could give me what they call : 7 WEEKS GUARANTEED PAY'. don't fall for it, IT IS A LIE ! THERE IS NO SUCH THING. I have been in London for more than a month now ( the most expensive city in the World)with no supply work at all. When I was in Australia, I would receive regular emails from tradewind agents to touch base with me , making sure my plans of moving to London were coming along. And ever since I have been here, it is as if I disappeared from their radar. They don't answer my emails. THAT THEY ARE DOING UNFAIR FALSE ADVERTISING JUST TO LURE AUSSIE TEACHERS TO COME TO THE UK SO THAT THEY CAN EXPAND THEIR DATABASE. I AM APPALED BY THEIR DISHONNESTY AND LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM.

Very happy with Tradewind. They were very supportive when I started supply teaching. Have given me as much work as I wanted despite only wanting to work in a very limited geographical area. They always return phone calls and reply to emails. (simple stuff but so many agencies don't manage it!) The one time they messed up a booking there was none of the usual messing around fudging excuses they were up front and honest about the mistake. Sanza their sister company isn't too bad either.

I worked for 6 months for Tradewind which did not give me much work but SANZA did 60% of the time when I called in the morning. But this is not enough to survive as there are long holidays in schools when there is absolutely no work/pay.

I joined Tradewind last year (2011) and couldn't be happier with the service that I have received. Right from the start of my time with Tradewind, my consultant (Duncan Wylie) has been an absolute star, he has been nothing but professional and has been booking me in for regular work in brilliant schools. I was able to have honest chats with Duncan about my school and year group preferences and he worked extremely hard to cater towards meeting these. I have had a really positive experience and will be working for Tradewind again in the future.
