I have worked with teaching personnel for 5 years and they have never let me down. They have always had plenty of work for me and been supportive when I have been unable to work due to medical circumstances. A great agency to work for and I would recommend them, without a second thought, to anyone that was thinking of working in schools but also needed flexibility in their work schedule. I have also managed to forge some fantastic friendships with the people I have been privileged to work with on my placements. Thank you Teaching personnel!!

Teaching Personel is the best agency I have ever joined and worked for. The staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed working for them and cannot praise them enough. Working for them has boosted my confidence, has enabled me to gain experience and have offered so much more than other agencies. I am extremely grateful and thankful for the service they provided and would recommend anyone to register with them. Thank you so much Teaching Personnel, a special thanks to Chris Stainthorpe for getting me alot more work than expected. Thankyou

I can’t speak highly enough of Becca and the team. She’s always at the end of the phone whenever I need to speak to her and I really feel like they’re in my corner, trying to find bookings that work for me rather than having to take whatever is offered!!!

I have worked with Teaching Personnel for over a year as an online NTP tutor. I find the North Team (in particular Becca, Lee & Zara) extremely friendly and helpful. They are always able to answer to my questions, and If I am unable to speak to the relevant person directly, he/she gets back to me quickly. I thoroughly enjoy working for TP and highly recommend the agency.

I have been successfully supporting teachers, running a D&T with secondary school children on 1:1 basis. Attended autistic schools and young people in trouble to support them with their education in classroom.

I've worked for the Cornwall Secondary branch of TP for almost three years now and they have been great! I'm never short of work, the staff are all super friendly and on hand whenever you need them and they furloughed me straight away for both lockdowns when schools closed. I cannot praise them enough!

Had a really terrible experience with this agency from the get-go. First they insisted on getting a reference from a school I used to work at many years ago which had since been taken over by an academy and had a new headteacher and senior leadership team, none of whom knew who I was. This process took 4 months, and they would not give me work until they had a reference back. This was despite giving them the details of many referees who I had worked with more recently. I should have run for the hills then! Since then, in the past 2 years I have had around 8 days work from them, despite living in central London, and with excellent transport links. They regularly send out texts offering work but when you call about the job it has been given to someone else. I also regularly received ‘we have feedback for you. Please call us’ messages. When I called about this the consultant told me not to worry about them as the texts are automated. Like, what is the point? On one of the few days I was working in a school for them I received a voicemail from my consultant who said they had the perfect job for me, exactly what I was after, could I please call back on my lunchbreak to discuss. When I called on my break an hour later he told me that the role had been given to someone else. I mean, that’s just rude, no? The same thing happened recently. I was offered 2 weeks work in a school close to home, teaching a year group I love. When I asked for a bit more money the consultant said he’d get back to me in a bit. 2 hours later I get a text, ‘Sorry, the school has found someone else.’ I know agencies are in the business of making money, but my experience with this one really made me feel like a disposable worker. They literally don’t care. Emails are often not responded to. If you turn down work you can expect not to hear from them for weeks. What adult has time for those kind of games? Anyway, I could go on and on and on. They’re just awful. Would avoid at all costs if you want to feel valued and you know, work! Thankfully I managed to get lots of work with another agency, so I know it’s definitely Teaching Personnel and not me.

This is my first time working for a recruitment agency and I am so glad I applied! The agents are friendly and approachable, and find you work quickly and efficiently. I found out today that one of the schools I work for no longer needed cover, and they found me work for the following Monday (3 days later!). Truly wonderful service and experience. Thank you so much!

I have worked with TP for nearly 3 years now and like with every job I’ve had my good times and bad. I can’t fault the level of support TP staff have given me to get this far. Really enjoying my experience so far.

I've worked for this agency for 4 years. It depends which office you work for as to how they treat you. I worked for the Southampton and Bristol branches which notoriously underpay. They will pay you the bare minimum (what they can get away with) you literally have to haggle to get more money. I had some good jobs but compared to other agencies they are not loyal. At the end of the day you are just a source of income for them. I had an issue at one school. The headteacher and a ta were both unprofessional. The headteacher took on a child with extreme behaviour with no care for the teacher who has to deal with an already full class with 3 year groups crammed in. She agreed to take on the child without seeing his papers or checking with the class teacher. Teacher can't cope, so they get agency in (me) to deal with the problem - as no one else wants to put up with his abusive behaviour. The ta in the class I was working lost her ring at school, pretty much accused me of taking it. She was uppity, catty the time I was there. Flirted ridiculously with a male staff member at least 10 years younger than her. It was a clickey little village school. I'd had enough of the behaviour there, so left. I went out of my way to provide detailed handover notes. I sent a card to the boy I was working with as a good bye. A few weeks after sending the card early January the headteacher contacted the agency saying they thought I was returning. I had emailed the head teacher well in advance explaining I would not be returning after the Christmas holidays. So, she clearly knew I was not returning. She was just trying to make me look bad. It all left a bad taste in my mouth. Fast forward a year and I want to register with a different branch of TP. They go to the school to get a reference and the teacher tells the agency I sent an inappropriate card to the boy, a message to the uppity ta (funny they didn't seem to think it was an inappropriate card at the time, still wanted me to return). Interesting how other people think it's fine to act inappropriately and then label others as "inappropriate". The agency sided with the school and I am not able to continue working for them. Thank heavens I'm registered with another agency (that pays a lot better), have an online teaching job. If I'd put all my eggs in the TP basket I'd be in serious hot water. Moral of the story: there are far better, smaller, more moral, integral agencies that care more about you as a person than what money you can make them.

Staff are great. I have worked for them since 2016 always having suitable work in my area. Pay has been excellent and the support I've received. Fast response time to my emails and phone calls. Professional service, unlike many others I've registered with over the years. TP take time to find the placements that use my experience, looking for the long term solution. Jessica Lloyd and Gemma Davies have been outstanding in their support over the past five years. To keep my options open I have registered with other agencies, only to realise how much better TP consultants are.
