About Supply Desk

Supply Desk have been operating since 2002 when we launched the first agency management recruitment services within education, for school groups in the UK. This was delivered in partnership with the London Borough of Harrow in 2002. The service was ground-breaking for the time and within the first 2 years, savings of over £1 million were made across the authority, and teacher retention rates improved by 70%. We’re proud of our history as innovators in Education and our vision to be recognised as such is reflected in the many ways we try to help schools find the right staff. We now have over 14 years of experience and our focus today is still on a fair price and a ‘never-compromise’ attitude to quality. To help schools raise standards we know we need to find the best talent and then create the right match.  We do this by getting to know each individual school, their staff, their pupils and culture before recommending the right candidate.

I joined the Leeds branch in September, looking for day to day Supply work. The interview process was very easy, efficient and straight forward. Since then I have had work almost every day at a rate that appears to be well above that of most other agencies. Neil and Ben have both been helpful, friendly and personable and I feel that they really do try not only to find me a vacancy but also one that would be a really good match for me. They are always completely honest and keep me well informed, on the rare occasion that I have had a concern with a school they have listened well and been supportive of me. I wpuld definitely recommend Supply Desk to anyone looking for an supply agent.

I've been with Supply Desk Brighton and Hove for around 12 years. All the staff are fabulous. They listen to what you're looking for and will find you as much or as little work as you like. My only gripe is my pay has only increased by £10 per day in all that time!

I have been working for The Supply Desk (Hove) for around 5 years now and have never had cause to go anywhere else. In this time I've had long-term and daily referrals. They are always ready to listen and help with any problems and, after all this time, I feel I am talking to friends rather than employers.

I joined the Leeds branch a few months ago looking for day to day or a long term supply position. Neil was very friendly and made me feel as ease during the interview and the whole registration process was quick and straight forward. He listened to what I was looking for and only being able to work part time was not a problem. Neil and Ben are always honest and approachable on the phone. One morning I was called about work which I agreed to but 5 minutes later they called back saying something else had come in which was really close to my home and would I like to do that instead. This showed they care about their teachers rather then just filling positions. I am looking forward to more work through them in September.

Have been working with Supply Desk since March/April. Day to day supply was pretty consistent but pay a little lower than I would expect. I was offered a long term (subject specific) placement after the Easter holiday for which the pay was much better!

The service I have received from Supply Desk has been truly impressive. They have communicated with me throughout the whole process and expertly guided me through it. I am delighted to say that I have just accepted a part time job at a very good school. I cannot fault them and would recommend them without reservation.

I've only dealt with the Brighton Branch, but would happily recommend them. I feel like a valued member of their workforce, having been almost constantly employed since registering 3 years ago. I've been offered and progressively better assignments with the agency negotiating the best rate of pay that they can get for me. I've found any problems to be quickly sorted out I'm really happy with this agency.

I have worked almost solely with Supply Desk Brighton for the past five years. I have found staff to be motivated and hardworking, always striving for the best for their teachers. I have had several long term contracts with SD. Pay is always at the best rates and support from SD is very good. I would highly recommend SD to anyone looking for supply teaching work in Sussex.

I have been with Supply Desk for many years, they have ALWAYS been very good to me and have looked after my needs. I have not had to join with another agency as Supply Desk have always provided me with enough work. I have no hesitation in recommending them and I have been given a range of interesting experiences and placements over the years. They have been great to work with.

I've been with Supplydesk (Chapeltown branch) since my hours were suddenly cut in my regular job earlier this year. Initially I joined just to have another option for emergencies but have been so happy with their service. I have been offered more work than I can take, a very friendly service and they have been understanding when my hours were increased again and couldn't work for them as much. I would highly recommend them, and have done so to quite a few colleagues. I can't praise them enough :-)

I have really enjoyed working for the Leeds branch of Supply Desk. The registration and administration processes have been prompt and seamless. The staff (I have spoken mainly to Neil and Ben) are exceptionally friendly, kind, professional, diligent and efficient, respond quickly and have time for you....They seem to genuinely care about you as a person, not just a number in the machine.I have had a good amount of work and the CPD available is of excellent quality (I did Jolly Phonics training at a very reasonable price). I rate them very highly as an agency and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

If you are going to work for just one supply agency then look no further than Supply Desk. In the time I have worked for them, my teaching duties have taken the form of day-to-day general supply as well as long term placements in welcoming schools. For good reason they have built up good relations with their client schools and should be encouraged to make further inroads into the market. Even in the 'quiet' months of September and October, the Brighton/Hove and Southampton branches have found me work. Occasional late calls are to be expected but the Hove branch endeavours to get me on the road before 7:30, reducing the mania of driving busy roads to distant schools. Hopefully the Southampton branch will gain a stronger foothold in Portsmouth. Personnel changes in the recruitment sector are to be expected and so it has been the case with Supply Desk. Presently the Hove and Southampton branches are staffed by able and considerate teams who are aware of my preferences and who endeavour to send me to my favourite schools and academies. On the few occasions when I have had to decline work they have shown understanding. Sixty-three different schools and counting so my thanks and appreciation to SD.

I get lots of supply work from Supply desk. I am a drama teacher, however I am willing to do day to day cover, and I will travel. It's a two way thing- if you teach a popular subject, and flatly refuse to travel, obviously you'll go for long periods without work. However, there is work available if you will compromise. I always am treated very nicely and fairly, and the staff there always sound as if they know who I am. I also am sent to schools that are suited to my needs - I don't feel dumped into a school, I feel there is a selection process.

I have not worked for Supply Desk for very long but my overall experience of the agency is very positive. They have a good team of friendly, professional staff who are committed to their work. I hope to get regular work in September but at the moment I am happy to have the flexibility that the job offers. I have recommended them to other teachers.
