Used to work with the Crawley branch, then they just forgot about me. Despite calls and emails, they never got back to me. Now working with a great agency, so it's their loss :)

Bristol branch are lovely, very helpful and get you out often to teach. Also appreciate the social events and CPD that help you build your social/professional network and learn new skills -- useful especially for an overseas teacher!

They could find me work but never close to home. Rate of pay was standard but never improved. The women were very pushy and always made you feel like you were letting them down if you couldn't work that day or for a particular rate. Hard sell made it stressful for me.

Having worked for the Liverpool branch I would say I am reasonably satisfied but I wouldn't highly recommend the company I would opt for the likes of Capita or Teaching Personnel over the likes of Randstad. I feel that Randstad really dont know their employees. They would often offer me day shifts working in nurseries when this did not match my experience of aspirations whatsoever. Another issue I feel that needs addressing is the attitudes of staff. Whenever I negotiated pay I would be bogged off with a standard "yeah but no but yeah no but yeah wish we could pay you that but yeah we are losing money" then to find out a lesser qualified teacher was earner said pay rate. You do however get a good amount of work and then primary schools are generally good quality.

I work for the Manchester branch, as a Teaching Assistant and I found the staff very friendly and professional. They try their best to match me into good schools within my area, although the rate of pay could be higher. The overall service is very good, just why I highly recommend this company to other Teaching Staff.

Started work in January using the crawley branch. Am really happy with the agency. They cater to my requirements well and whilst I'm on the morning phone call I usually have placements booked in advance. They are professional and actively find placements for me. Contact is good and phone calls/emails always answered promptly.

I've had an overall good experience with Randstad in Crawley. Some lovely schools and reasonable pay rate. Staff in this office have always been helpful and tried to match my availability as much as possible. I would recommend them.

This is my fourth year working for Crawley Ranstad and I am very happy with them. They usually find me the right amount of work per week and, where possible place me in schools I really like. The consultants are cheerful, friendly and helpful.Booking arrangements and pay are handled efficiently.

Would like pay increase when on a long term contract, doing planning, reports, staff meetings as there is no real increment.

I would recommend the Crawley branch of Randstad. I have had more or less as much work as I have wanted, apart from often just before and after holidays. The staff have gone out of their way to get me work and deal with me in a friendly, flexible and professional way. I have also been offered CPD during my time with them. My only quibble is the fact that I get paid significantly less than I would if I was a 'normal' teacher.

Recently retired as deputy head and decided to do some supply teaching. I would not recommend this agency to anyone. Summarising briefly (1) Sent to schools who hadn't booked me, no pay, feeling a twit and expenses incurred. (2)Consistently underpaid the agreed booking rate. (3) Mysterious deductions from my pay(theft in effect). The consultant become very nasty when challenged about this. Glib and promising the earth at the interview. When I kept challenging them about their dishonesty re wages -the work dried up. On a more sinister note the company are moving into the NQT market with a huge advert in Guardian education encouraging NQT recruitment. Vast profits to be made here.Working for this outfit would be a very bad move for any NQT. I spoke to a 23 year old primary teacher who had been conned into some guaranteed pay scheme, sent under veiled threats to a dreadful school, has lost her confidence and left the profession. AVOID, AVOID

Randstadt asked me to register with them so I did. Two weeks or so later I contacted them again regarding work and to give them a DBS update. I was told my registration had been “self –suited. ”! When I asked what this meant she said that it was because I had failed to return at half term as I said I would, with an updated second proof of address! I told them that this was not true; they had changed their minds telling me not to come in with the remaining information until my DBS had arrived. The response was to imply that I had not turned up, I was intransigent and how dare I dispute this with her! Shocked, I asked her how we could move on from this but she persisted in being obstructive. The registration process in order for me to acquire work was indirectly refused. I was astonished with her dishonest, high-handed, rude and ruthless attitude and made a complaint through Ronstadt’s parent company. So they can ‘self -suit’ themselves. Sadly, I have another forty agencies calling but thankfully now I have a job in an excellent school.

A dreadful agency. Don't make any effort to find long-term work. The work they have offered to me is way below my professional level. I am a highly qualified teacher, they offer me administrative work! In the few weeks I have been with them, my financial situation has worsened substantially. They agreed to a minimum daily rate, only to state that they couldn't offer work at this rate. If you are new to supply teaching, please think it through! I would not recommend signing up for supply work with this agency.

Great placement shame Ranstad couldn't pay me properly, I have regularly had my weekly pay not processed or over Christmas it was just forgotten about. this week I had an unexplained deduction of £130 from my salary. Never again would I accept work through this company

Been sent on jobs that have been cancelled without my knowledge. If that isn't bad enough they don't pay very well at all (£50pd if you're lucky) and more times than not will send you to schools that you are not properly qualified to teach in simply because they want the money. Lots of work available, but only try them if you're desperate for work....
