Have been with them since January 2017 and they've been amazing. Sure pay rates aren't amazing but that's teaching in the UK in general, not just Protocol. At least they pay me directly with PAYE and not outsource it to umbrella companies to save themselves money like everyone else. Started on £130 a day, got called back to a school and offered £135 and then I got a block of work at the same school on £160. Very happy with that as a 2nd year graduate English teacher! I think some of the teachers here would complain about Santa Claus. They're an agency - they're there to make money like every other agency. They're not a charity. I worked hard, got loads of work, have met loads of new friends for life and am still having an amazing time teaching in London. Can't recommend them highly enough! Take the overly negative reviews with a grain of salt I say.

Horrible agency! I was guarteed a job from Australia and moved over with lots of confidence in them. The school turned out to be awful and in a horrible area. I was told to tough it out until half term and that I would he paid for this half term, didnt happen. I then did supply and told them my rate of pay £140. I received lots of calls booking me in for following week and accepted all of them. On email confirmation it said rate of pay £125. I called up and questioned it and they said it was an 'error'. They found me work work at another school at a rate of £135 a day. I was in contact with another agency who were offering £140 a day. I called up to get an increase and they said ' we will have to speak to school about that'. It had nothing to do with the school as the agency were taking the exact same cut regardless. If you do sign up always, always, always push for more money esp if in London. If they say they cant, threaten that you will leave for another agency and I bet your rate increases.

Although they are one of the most affluent agencies, they offer a poor rate of pay for experienced and highly skilled teachers.

The consultants seem friendly, but are really fake and two faced. They are just out to cream off as much of a cut from your pay as possible. They stoop low when suggesting they can't offer you the pay you deserve when in fact they are just plain greedy. Ignore their comments when they inform you "The school is just 5 minutes away from the station.." as they are normally much further away. They are a rare breed in that you would think they would want to place you and get you work, but once they bear a grudge then you are in fact "blacklisted" or ignored til for weeks. Staff come and go so you arent sure who is looking after your area all the time. Phoning in for work is sometimes pointless as other members try to get you to work in their borough. This is proof how cut throat and ruthless they are. Avoid working with this incompetent company, others are much better!!!

I came from overseas in September and was really looking forward to working in Bristol. The preperations were useful (webinars) with the issues there regarding housing - they claimed to help me find an apartment but no help was given. They promised me so much work but after 4 moths I've worked a total of 4 half days with protocol. They are constantly calling about availability, even after submitting it online, and promising work that never exists. I signed with a different agency and have already doubled my work in less than a week. One time Chris at protocol pre-booked me at a school, then cancelled while I was on the bus to work. Turn out my other agency has an exclusive agreement with that school so Protocol was booking me just so I was unavailable with the other agency. I told them I no longer wanted to work "for" them and they still call about my availability. I'm also confident that theres been a staffing change there of about 5 people. I find them very unorganized, they don't communicate, they lie, and will abandon you. Please, follow these reviews about Protocol Bristol and choose a different agency.

I joined Protocol Leeds in Sept 16. I am an outsntanding teacher coming from an outstanding school with great references. I am very flexible and will accept work in any year group across a wide distance. I work for a different supply agency, who I joined at the same time as Protocol and who have managed to fill my week with work almost every week and pay much better. However in 4 months Protocol have not successfully secured me a single job, and in that time they have only actually offered two separate days work for me however on both days they only offered me the job at 8:15 and I had already accepted work through my other agency at 7:30. While the staff come across well every time I speak to them to update my availability they ask me what age group I'd like to teach, how far I'm willing to travel, and what type of role I'd like- it concerns me that if they don't already have this information then I can't see how they would be able to find me appropriate jobs.

Shocking experience being wooed overseas with false assurances of appropriate work and guaranteed work agreements to then discover there is barely any work, all at inappropriate schools for my level of training and last-minute calls where agency expects you to be at the school fifteen minutes later and to catch cabs but no reimbursement offered even though the pay rate they offer is pitiful. Only pros are that they are efficient with paying the paltry wages and no issues with registration or with entering my availabilities.

Complete waste of time, DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH THEM!!!!! Lack of communication and massively incompetent staff that politely nod their heads and agree with everything you say and then blatantly ignore it and pretend it never happened. To them, you are not an individual with a life beyond their agency - they are only interested in filling their bookings and call you whenever they need someone for a booking, regardless of your availability or preferences. After several weeks of getting up at 6.30 to wait for their call and not getting it, I called them up and was told that the contact number they have for me seems wrong, even though they had called me ON THE SAME NUMBER before, and I had called them from it as well. The next few weeks they kept calling me on the days that I wasn't available, and never on the days that I was, despite me confirming my availability AT LEAST 3 TIMES and being told every time that there has been a mistake and they will update it right away. At this point I decided that I didn't want to work with them anymore and suspended my online account. I also called in to say that I have found another job and will not be available for work anymore. This happened six weeks ago, Protocol STILL CALL ME AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK, and despite me having said twice more that I am not going to work with them, they keep calling and texting me. Unbelievably unprofessional. (I am talking about the Uxbridge branch)
