Didn't even start with this agency. Sent in the required documents on March 22 and was still not registered by the 12th May. When asked for additional information I always sent it back the same day and then wouldn't hear from them for a week. On one occasion, I had a conversation with a consultant about documents on a Friday and was then called the following week asking me the same questions about said documents. I had to chase them up and finally told them to take my details off their books when they requested details of a referee and I found out they still hadn't contacted her for a reference a week later. Unorganised chaos.

I have worked with Protocol Education Middlesbrough branch for nearly five years now and they have been simply fantastic . Alex has been most supportive when I lost my contract after four years. He got me back into work within three weeks and I wouldn’t really want to go anywhere else as the commitment that is demonstrated to each person is second to none. The way some of the schools treat teaching staff is appalling and I’m thirty five years in so to have the support from protocol has kept me in the teaching profession as I love teaching the children and don’t want the involvement of the politics behind it all. Thank you protocol and especially to Alex who calls me every week to check in and rings me as soon as there is any praise to come back.

I have worked for Protocol for just over 5 years, after teaching for 18 years. I work mainly for the Watford Branch & have always found them to be very professional. All consultants are always happy & upbeat when they speak to you & they make you feel valued. They take into consideration the year groups you like to teach & will always try to match you appropriately. My main consultant, Carolanne Walker (Carol) is fantastic. She is kind, caring, considerate, understanding & very well organised. Her communication skills are excellent & she really does go above and beyond. Although I do some long term work, I prefer to do day-to-day work. I am never booked for a job without being asked if I'd like to do it. The Schools I have worked at have been wonderful & I think Protocol works very hard to make sure that everyone is happy. With supply work you have to be flexible & this works both ways. Protocol are very supportive & understanding. I have always had a lot of work from Protocol. The candidate portal is very easy to use & I am always paid on time. Protocol is very good at keeping you informed of everything. They were very good during lockdown & we were informed about what was happening & when. We also got furlough pay, which was fantastic. Overall, I have had a great experience working for Protocol & would recommend them to anyone.

I've worked for Protocol Education since 2014 and it's been a bump ride as I do find that in most agencies its always about the consultant your work with, and as a candidate I value my time and labour equal to that of the agency and client I am placed with, one cannot work with out the other. Through protocol I have worked with some great consultants and also some bad ones, no agency is perfect every agancy and company and school has bad apples so if your trying to avoid that then good luck. My Amazing consultant came right at the moment I took my career seriously amongst others, but Maria was different, she listened to me what I wanted and what kind of school I wanted to work with and so on, she never ever put me in a role that I would hate or complain about and if I did it wasn't because of Maria it was because the school maxes changes that was out her control. However she always worked with me understood my issues and always found me work, I have used other agencies and trust me they work for commission and make that very clear in their approach. Maria is very on the ball she sympathetic and works with you alway, always returns call and keeps me informed and communicates with me as and when she has to. Maria is a brilliant support and she even understood when I wanted a pay rise she sorted it! I wouldn't work with any one else in Protocol, I believe protocol should use Maria Williams in Watford branch as an example of professionalism in this fast paced industry and maybe new concultants should buddy with her and see how it should be done rather then wing it in desperation. Tha k Maria your amazing and brilliant and thanks for my new assignment it's always a pleasure working with you

This agency is very 50/50. I started working for them last year, being placed in special needs schools, when Im not even qualified for it. I hated it but needed the money, even if it wasnt great. Then most recently i was placed in normal schools nd nurseries, which was a relief at first but then I was booked by a different staff who doesnt seem to know what shes doing. My pay started getting delayed, im still waiting for my pay from a month ago.. and theyre blaming it on ME. I tried calling and emailing to resolve this but theyre taking ages and not communicating properly with me, so im left in the dark, working for free. Im going to wait for my missing payments, I already filed a complaing to HM about workers rights as Im fed up to be treated so poorly and not getting paid. I dont recommend working for PTC , but as I said, it can be fine if you get a nice staff worker that books you onto good places and gets you paid on time. Applying elsewhere in meantime and will take more measures if I need to!

The pay rate is pretty good, however some branches seem to pay more than others. The main problem with this agency is that they are too big, often I would get a phone call for work from one consultant, then if I had some issues I would call back only for the phone to be answered by another person. They also took advantage of my limited geographical knowledge of London by sending me to schools that were over an hour and a half from where I lived. There should be a law in the UK that to work at a Teaching agency you must be a Teacher yourself, some of the consultants were just salespeople.

Didn't like the way they gave out assignments for SEND children when 1-2-1 tutoring. They quickly signed me up without interview, but when I found out how they work, I immediately told Protocol I wouldn't work with them. The funny thing was, I got a rejection email after I binned them off. Brilliant!

I’ve worked with supply agencies on and off since 2005 and with this particular company in two different UK cities. Here is my earned opinion, if you are as disinterested in actual education as these people are then it will suit you fine, you will get a friendly call to offer you work and you’ll get paid. Maybe that’s all you want. But if you’re really interested, invested and care about the roles you will be undertaking in schools, I would suggest you find an agency where the agents have actually worked in education and have an understanding of what it takes. I guess this does not guarantee that they too are only really interested in the bottom line but hopefully it makes that less likely. Make no mistake, Protocol are in SALES not education. I’ve been booked, dropped, shuffled around like a chess piece and lied to so that they can take their fee. You will never be their priority even though it is YOU who make their money for them. Be honest with yourself and do your research. Don’t let them screw you around and be clear about your worth.

Protocol Education is a friendly, reliable, efficient and supportive agency.Great communication with all consultants regarding potential placements daily and weekly. I have gained loads of experience across various schools from primary to SEN schools in all age groups. Most of the schools where I was placed, were good to outstanding. There was never two days the same at schools, which made it really enjoyable and exciting.Courtney and Shaun are very friendly and professional and they regularly find me bookings in good schools. As an agency, I felt they worked hard to provide me with work, and often sought out longer contracts than just the day work. All of my placements were local, and the process was well-organised. Overall a great experience !

I turned up to their office and no one knew who I was supposed to see there, because the invitation to come to their agency had been made over the phone. I told them that I had already filled in the online registration form and they still couldn't find me. After waiting some time, finally someone came to talk to me about the jobs (thank you John) but then I got a call later, the next day, asking me who I had talked to when I came... I can understand maybe it's the holidays and they want to leave, but I find that quite unprofessional of them. After I said I want to withdraw my application they said they will put my application on 'hold', to see if any interesting position comes up in the future. I'm not interested anymore.

I worked with this agency for many years and I had a good experience working with my a previous consultant who was very supportive and helpful but since they left staffs are very unsupportive, rude and unprofessional. One person in particular was quite disrespectful to me as someone looking for a job. I was asked why I am bothering to apply to them if I have not worked with them for a while, which is not a question to ask. I am very disappointed with this and communication and trust has broken down. Pay not great. Very poor experience with recent staffs .

When I started working for this agency, I found the consultant very helpful and very understanding of the fact that I have young children so cannot always be flexible regarding supply teaching He left the company and the consultant who replaced him is totally unhelpful. He has no comprehension of how hard it can sometimes be to be flexible as a parent, even though I really do want to work as much as I can. The previous consultant always offered very local work that I could accept. This consultant didn't, and when I didn't accept the first two offers, he wouldn't offer me work even though I was available. Totally unprofessional, I will look for a more supportive agency
