1.I had a meeting with Impact 9 hours after getting off the plane and within 24 hours of that meeting they had arranged some work for me -- they were all exceptionally welcoming and outgoing and really endeavoured to make sure I took care of all bureaucratic aspects that would easily have gone over my head had I tried to do it all on my own! 2. I got in contact with Impact several months before coming over; they were helpful and gun-ho about making sure I had all necessary documentation adn qualifications before coming over -- this made it so much easier once I arrived to jump straight into teaching. 3. I acquired two interviews in the space of a week at two fantastic schools and worked at one school for a term and am now employed full time at the other. The transition has been extremely simple with Impact helping organising everything and providing useful information/tips for interviews and teaching strategies, etc. 4. Impact continues to touch base with me at regular intervals and I honestly feel as though I can contact them at any time with any issue I may be having and they will help me in a second. 5. Everyone is exceptionally friendly and supportive -- just great people in general who are funny, welcoming and generous. Daniel Becker, University of Notre Dame (Australia)

I had contact from other teaching agencies back in Ireland and stumbled across Impact through pure chance online. They really look after their teachers and are really friendly and helpful. I have had plenty of work with them since I moved over and they have a variety of schools spread across London and the Greater London Area. I'd have no problems in recommending Impact to my friends or to fellow teachers-I have no doubt that like me they wont regret signing up!! The charitable ethos of this agency is a huge attraction and it serves as a reminder that there are people less fortunate than us around the world. Impact provide opportunities to teachers and pupils in the UK and Third World that no other agency can.

All the people that work for this agency are so friendly! They always call when they say they will and are really willing to listen to any questions or concerns and have connections with some really great schools in London. All times sheets and availability are submitted online which makes it really easy and convenient. I would recommend them to anybody who would like to teach in London!

Overall, I definitely can't complain. I was a bit nervous coming from Canada based on the reviews from this website, but honestly, since I've started, I've been fine. The least work I've had was three days in a week, in my first two months with them but I've been full time since then which is great. Sometimes there are failed communications but I'd rather get called twice than not at all. This said, Impact is the only agency I have been with in London, but I have no desire to look for another, even for supplementary work. The schools are hit and miss. . . Some absolutely great ones and some challenging ones, but I'm sure that's anywhere. I have and will continue to recommend Impact to my friends.

Really nice people who generally do look out for your best interests. The work started off slow for the first 2 weeks, but then I had full time supply with them everyday, for 3 months before finding a long term posting. Social bunch with regular get togethers for teachers. I find the pay is fair. The schools you get sent to can sometimes be challenging, but what school isn't. I find contact from them regular and to the point, I'd rather have too much then too little. I do find though that since staff seem to change as peoples visas finish, or find other jobs, that the people who you deal with do change. So I found it really useful to pop in regularly, or keep in touch with the agency, just so the new people know your face. Also to let the agency know what you want out of them, I found it helped getting work

I had a great experience working with Impact! Not only did I get to volunteer in India, but I really appreciated the personal contact from the Impact office. I felt like they really took the time to get to know me and it made me feel very secure about moving my life all the way to the UK!!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with this agency. They were friendly, prompt and always very helpful. Moving to London form Australia was a very big deal for me. Impact made the transition as smooth as possible. They got me work immediately and they managed to find me a contract that eventually led to full-time permanent work. From what I have heard from my fellow Aussie teaching travellers, I doubt competing agencies can match the service Impact provided me. Also, I thoroughly enjoyed the charitable aspect of Impact Teachers and embarked on two charity missions (to Uganda and India) with Impact Teachers. A truly rewarding experience. Impact Teachers...HIGHLY recommended!

I am really surprised reading the other reviews on the site - though many of them seem to be from short term supply teachers. From the view of a full-time secondary teacher, I was with impact for only a few weeks before i had this full-time secondary teaching position. I have also been on the charity trips to both Uganda and India with this agency, which is a wonderful opportunity and experience, where we are hugely taken care of - lifechanging in the best possible way! If you are looking for more permanent work over here I recommend this agency

Impact are fantastic. I am a British Teacher working who was working in London and Impact used my school to supply lots of teachers- all of whom had nothing but positive things to say about the organisation. It was through these verbal recommendations that I contacted them myself to explore the option of working for their charity. On three occasions I travelled with Impact, twice to Uganda and once to India. These trips were life changing. I was supported by the Impact team every step of the way, including pre- trip training sessions, information packs etc. We were then escorted on the trip by a leader from Impact and given the opportunity to stay with local families and experience the real country- nothing like the type of experience/holiday you would have as a tourist. I was given the opportunity to plan and deliver lessons in teaching styles to the local teachers and to observe the lessons within the local schools. The trips were were well planned, the leaders professionals and our resources of the highest quality. These trips improved my own teaching, made me question and reflect on my own professional development. I believe I am a better teacher from these experiences. We were also given the chance to explore the local area, socialise with our host families and even do a little bit of shopping. If I only I hadn't emigrated I would still work with Impact- not only do they care about the teachers that work for them they are changing the world we live in.

The agency was helpful in setting up a bank account and showing how to get paid through an umbrella company. I dealt with two very helpful and friendly staff members. After moving to England I had steady full time work at a school in East London that had a great and friendly staff but, was a very rough school for a first year teacher. My second teaching job through the agency was outside of London in a much nicer school and I received a contract, it was a much better teaching experience overall. Since moving back to Canada the staff members have been very helpful providing any information or references that I need for future employers.

My Impact experience was brilliant! I secured a science post at an Outstanding school in Surrey. The principal told me that they often choose Impact Teachers because their staff are good. Impact contacted me often to make sure that everything was running smoothly. The were always helpful, explaining: how the schooling system works, terminology, Umbrella companies, holidays, National Insurance numbers, how to set up bank accounts etc. I highly recommend Impact as the agency to choose if you are interested in teaching in England!

Dealt with Impact from abroad before arriving in UK. Had no issues with the reps I dealt with. I only worked at one school with Impact. Quality of school wasn't great (went into special measures but loved the experience with my dept) but that is in part why they hired through agency. Prompt response to requests for info etc.

I had lots of work straight away because Impact supplied me with a lot of work. All the schools I worked at had something good to say about Impact and their teachers. I left London to go to France for a year and when I needed to come back, Impact were really helpful and found a long term placement for me (in a school I had worked at a lot previously) the day after I made contact again. They were also very professional but friendly and easy going. If I had a problem, they would get onto it straight away. Not to mention all the amazing work they do with Schools in Africa and India - I went on a trip to Uganda and saw schools they had and are working with: WHAT A DIFFERENCE they've made and are making everyday! I recommend them 100%

I worked for Impact Teachers for my first year in education and spent the whole year at one school. Before accepting the position Impact was very upfront with me about the difficulties I would encounter in British schools. It was my decision to take on the challenge and also my decision to stay at a poorly run and sometimes dangerous school, Impact staff offered to help me to find a new school and were supportive of all the choices I made. I could count on a weekly phone call to check-in and provide support and even after I had moved back to Canada Impact has always gone above and beyond to provide me with references and keeping in touch. The one area I felt they lacked in was that teachers in my school from other agencies often had agencies who would negotiate higher salaries more voluntarily, this seemed to be an area that Impact required more push from the teachers they employed. Overall, my experience working with Impact was a positive one and one I would be willing to repeat any time!

I arrived from Canada with Impact and another agency working for me. While both provided arrival assistance, Impact felt much more personable. The people I met were friendly, outgoing and did their best to answer my questions. The first four months I did daily supply to some out of the way schools and some really rough ones. A good thing about Impact though is that they never force you to return to a school you do not want and your refusal does not affect any additional work you might get. Afterwards, I did two long term positions in two different schools, totaling 18 months of steady work. Impact was willing to negotitate my pay each time I asked; long term positions generally have a higher rate than their daily supply. Would I work with Impact again? Yes. Would I recommend them to a newly arrived teacher? Yes. They are great with helping you get established and offer plenty of social events for metting people. To other agencies, you are just a number. Not with Impact.

I emailed my contact details just for interest sake because I wasn't sure about moving to the UK to teach. Impact straight away contacted me and explained everything from teaching to travelling to living in the UK. I was promised a full time position and this happened within a week. I had help with all my paper work and everything was very efficient. I was met at the airport and taken to my hotel (which they had recommended). After some time in Clapham, I travelled to my school and had acommodation already organised through the agency and my school. I had weekly contact for the entire two years of teaching in the UK and they acted straight away with any issues. Even after moving home, when needing any information from Impact, I received it straight away. All I can say was that I would have liked to have known the person I dealt with to start off with was going to change once I arrived.

I signed up with Impact before heading over from NZ. The staff who I dealt with on the phone when registering as well as when I had my phone interview were super friendly and helpful. Upon arriving in London, I signed up in person and was offered a days trial on the spot for a position that was likely to be the whole term. I've since stayed in that school full time and have to say I am so lucky after the horror stories that I hear about other schools. The children are amazing as are the staff. I negotiated my rate of pay based on my experience (9 years including middle management) and the workload I was taking on and found that the staff at Impact acknowledged this and were very easy to deal with (I hate talking money with anyone!) Teaching in London is a completely different ball game to home, yet I have been really pleased with the service I have received from Impact and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others.

I signed up with Impact Teachers a month before I received a position through them. Despite the fact that I signed up late, my Impact representative was more than willing to work through all of the legalities with me, provided daily/weekly support as needed via phone and e-mail, and went beyond the call of duty to help me find temporary accommodation with fellow teachers before I arrived to a full-time position. My induction with the representative was relaxed and welcoming, and proved exceptionally useful in terms of getting necessarily accessorized (mobile, National Insurance, etc.). I'm extremely grateful for the follow-up calls to ensure that I was settling in well, as well as advice on accommodation rental prices. Bottom line (quite literally) - the Impact representative with whom I was paired definitely worked for me. They have my vote.

Impact were helpful and supportive throughout my 2 years in the UK. With the assistance of the friendly and personable staff, I was able to find the full time job I wanted in London. Impact consistently offered me any assistance and support I required and I found the staff to be highly approachable. I loved the fact that the agency actively sought to make a difference in the world and that my work with Impact contributed to that. I also appreciated the opportunities to travel to places such as Uganda and India and positively contribute to the communities there. Impact also organised a number of socials and get-togethers during my time in London which provided opportunities to meet like-minded travellers and build social networks when I first relocated. I am very grateful for the help and support Impact provided me and could not recommend the agency highly enough.
