A waste of time!A waste of petrol! I signed up in feb and was promised once application complete they would have no problem getting me in a school as there were a few vacancies in my areas. Heard nothing after a few weeks rang them and the man that signed me up had left and they were trying to complete my application asap. Heard nothing since! This company has bad communication skills

Not even worth one star at the Liverpool office, liars and timewasters. Stick with a decent agency in Liverpool or the Wirral;Connex, Reed's, or Edustaff.

Not even worth 1 star. Waste of time. Waste of giving up a day of work to meet with. Waste of petrol. Waste of space. Team in Wolverhampton are liars! In particular the guy who deals with Walsall primary schools. Firstly, after going all the way to the branch which takes me 1 hour in the car, the guy who dealt with me (and also deals with Walsall primary schools), left my CRB in the photocopier. I phoned the out of office number when I returned home as it was after 6pm. He promised to phone me the following morning as I needed the CRB for work with another agency that day. I did not receive a phone call at all. It was only when I wasted a day of work myself to go all the way back to the branch to get my CRB that they were apologetic. After being told it will take 2 weeks to get fully registered, I phoned, and was greeted with excuses about not being able to get my references. The next few weeks (when they were suppose to finalise my registration) I had work with another agency up until Christmas, so no contact from them, or myself was made. Shortly after new year, I had a phone call from the agency saying they are sorting my references and I will be set up with work for the new year. 'I will ring Tuesday, oh, no, maybe Wednesday next week'. That one week then turned into 4 months and this same deceitful man decides to call today saying he is chasing up my references. Well I hope after my not so kind words this morning he gets a grip and starts treating people that 'he really needs' with some respect and common decency. Awful experience, would not recommend, but I have had great experiences with Aspire People and ABC Teachers.

I registered with the Leeds office of Hays back in the summer of 2011 and through them have had the happiest three years of my working life on supply. The entire team are always pleasant and very efficient and my own recruitment officer is charming, helpful and friendly, and extremely competent. I have been working at the same outstanding school full-time (apart from a brief gap at the beginning of this academic year) ever since 2011. Pay rates are excellent and holiday pay is deducted from source. Perchance the Leeds branch is an exception! :)

Wish I hadn't bothered to register with them. I wanted to start supply in a new area we had moved to and also required a new CRB check. I registered the beginning of August but they didn't process my CRB application until after a complaint from me in the 3rd week in September after another agency explained it should have been cleared by then. I had to turn down work and lost money. Hayes have never apologised or contacted me for any work in my subjects even though they advertise regularly. Not sure if this is just Exeter but have heard from other supply teachers with similar experiences . AVOID if you can

Last year, I was on MPS 6 having done supply teaching for about 12 years on and off. I'm currently doing a maternity cover that began before the school holidays, and, knowing about the Agency Worker Regulations, I expected my pay to match MPS6 after twelve weeks of work. Week 12 arrived - no change of pay. I phoned the local Hays office to ask why my pay had remained the same. "Did you expect a pay rise?" I was asked. Well, erm, yes, I did actually, as they'd been paying me the equivalent of an NQT on MPS1... Apparently Hays haven't worked out how they're going to deal with Performance Management - even for those of us on long term assignments - so they're not bothering... which means that even on a long-term role, your pay will stay the same. Be warned, people, and check what the other agencies are doing about it!! Oh, and if you know of any other good agencies in the Gloucester/Wiltshire area, let me know!!!

Hays Liverpool. Shocking experience of bad service. Registered weeks ago, no feedback, nothing. I emailed and phoned several time, but the only thing I got was a rude and aggressive lady telling me that there weren't any jobs in Liverpool or the Wirral for teachers in French or Spanish! Avoid.

Hays of Liverpool were the most appauling agency that I have ever worked with. I registered with them over a year ago, chased up my referees, got the CRB done and paid for, never heard a word from them until today! Despite me sending several e-mails to them and contacting them by phone. I went with Connect this year and they have been a million times better. Hay's had the cheek to contact me today to say I had to come in and re-register! Plus they would have to get new references. When challenged the consultant said things were picking up!I told him in no uncertain terms what I thought of him and Hay's. Please if you are looking for supply in Liverpool and the Wirral avoid these people at all costs. Connect and Reed's are much more reliable.

Got sent to a completely inappropriate job that did not match my skill set. Having worked there for a couple of weeks, Hays did not bother to discuss the school's concerns with me. It's taken months to get paid for some of the work I have done, because there was a fault with their connect log in system to submit timesheets.

Seriously don't bother with this agency. I found work with one of the top 5 agencies named on this website within a week of joining them. Hays, on the other hand, wrote to me two months later saying they lost my cv. Can I send it again and what did I want anyway? Totally useless.

A disgrace, agency in Wolverhampton and the main agency in London, very rubbish, lied over the phone, had be register twice and failed to find any work. When i went into the agency to register, the agency was dis-organised. I worked with Hays Accountancy many years back and they were great, its a shame that the people employed now are not good and that's why they lose their recruits to other agencies. I registered with a new agency in bham after (NOT hays) and they were excellent.

Where to begin? First of all, they took more than 4 months to get me registered. Yes, four months! For long periods of time they did not have a designated consultant for me and I was unable to talk to anyone in the office. Despite leaving messages on a regular basis, I never received a call back from them. So many excuses about why they hadn't finished the procedure more quickly, blaming everything from schools to the postal service. When they finally, FINALLY completed my registration, there was no work for me. What an unbelievable waste of time. I have given them 2 stars for honesty because at least they had the decency to admit that my registration had taken far too long. I would advise anyone working in Worcestershire to steer well clear of this company.

No work found, in-fact quite rubbish, lots and lots of excuses about not being in office, still awaiting documents etc. I wasn't even set a proper interview and sat in a room doing nothing for a little bit. The teaching agency need to up their game and work like some of the other areas Hays represent. Signed up with another agency that were brilliant, efficient and professional.

I would say the Manchester branch is pretty good with lots of work, day to day and longer term. They tend to pay cover supervisor rate alot but that depends on the school really. I always got paid on time and staff were really helpful. However, the Leicester branch was shocking. I got a decent amount of work but had issues with being paid on time, timesheets wouldnt appear on the online system for days and days. I constantly had to ring and chase it up. Work was often promised then the school would cancel in the morning which isnt the agencies fault but highly annoying. New staff didnt seem to know what they were doing.

Signed 12 months ago and since then no contact and no work..Rates of pay are around £50 less than mps. Everything rated as one star as I assume everything else about them is as good as getting work from them. Waste of time filling in the paperwork.

Recruited me for a specific post which was good as it was a local school and was for a term and a half. However once the placement was finished there was no further work and they removed me from their staff when I was working for other agencies on placements.....OK agency if you give them exclusivity, but limited work available with them.
