Agency sent me to a school with a view to a long term position, one which I decided not to take. Though I immediately told the agency I wasn't going to be taking the job, they failed to pass this information onto the school, who were left expecting me to turn up to start work five weeks later. Embarrassing for me, massive implications for school - all down to Destination's incompetence.

Hi everyone!!! Destination are only agency I have signed up for and have to admit they have been quite supportive and friendly so far. Think I have had quite a few jobs per week since I signed up....and staff have usually been understanding to. Maybe it depends also on the areas we live in but otherwise no serious complaints. But if you really aren't happy then definitely try another agency. Best of luck everyone :-)

If someone were to ask me what I dislike about daily supply I would say working with agencies such as this one. Destination is not a teaching agency, it's a business and don't be loomed by thinking they will actually care about you. They care only about the money they make on you. I registered with them in September 2010 and did not get any work until January. Then suddenly they remembered about me and yes I would get work nearly everyday, however, they would send me to teach year levels I specifically ask not to be sent to teach. They would lie time and time again. You think you're on your way to teach a Reception class but having arrived at the school you find out it is year 6 you are about to teach all day! They don't give you as chance to prepare yourself at all. I am still working my way towards teaching older children and need someone who will be patient and will give me the choice rather than get rude when I express my concerns and then lie to me. Every time I call them I am being rushed and left feeling like I'm wasting their precious time. I do not like complaining and I really love teaching but I am very disappointed with this agency. Destination, I give up on you! And to all supply teachers: there are many lovely agencies out there which will care about you and make teaching experience a positive one. Thank you for this website. At least I know it's not just me..

This seems to be one of those occassions when I can say I'm glad it's not just me ... but I'm sorry that it's you too ... Joined DE in September. Was impressed and they got me working the very next day. Have had lots of work with them but communication can be incredibly poor. I have lost count of the number of times I've been told their email system is down (the excuse only works once), that the person you want to talk to is 'making a cup of tea' or 'out to lunch' and that 'they'll call you as soon as they get back' (they don't.) Have had to chase up pay on more than one occassion. Currently trying to get paid for a 'trial day' at the end of November with them saying that trial days are not paid - not that this appears on a contract or is mentioned or explained beforehand. Repeated attempts by myself to resolve this have met wuth unreturned phone calls and emails and being passed around different members of staff who have told me all sorts of different things. Frustrating. Final attempt to be paid before Christmas was made today and resulted in my calm, reasoned, factual points being responded with wriggling, excuses, anger and ultimately having the phone put down on me. One for the union then ... So thanks DE for leaving me short of cash - cash I EARNED for WORKING for you - before Christmas. One word. Avoid.

I can totally identify with what the other raters have said. Destination Education is all the talk when you register with them but then they take ages to get you any work. If you call them, they will remember nothing about you - promise to call you back - and then fail that problem. This has happened to me so many times I can't even count them. I have only worked for them 3 days and I have been registered for 3 months now. I am kicking myself though because I turned down work that wasn't quite what I was looking for at the time - and now I think I should have taken it. They don't seem able to find me anything else, plus the vacancies on their website are not at all updated. They're not the greatest but I wouldn't say they are the worst. EDUSTAFF ARE THE WORST BY FAR!!!

This agency is awful - I do not even want to give them any stars. They talk the talk on the phone, invite you in to discuss jobs they have advertised and think you would be great for. Then you never hear from them again, except to tell you that they have lost your documents, although they say that you did not bring them in. The consultant I registered with looked like he couldnt be bothered and pretty much gave the impression that he was doubtful he would find me work as it's so quiet. They're just really salesy Essex/Kent lads - maybe if you go to register looking really glamorous with your fake tan they may be more inclined to find you work - so they can schmooze you. Waste of time - dont bother!

Destination Education talked a great game when I arrived in the UK and registered. They have a huge, professional-looking office and I was sure I'd get a lot of work. After a term, I'd worked 3 days with them. 3 days (and to get paid for one I had to do a lot of chasing). After I got a long-term position through another agency and informed D.E. I'd be unavailable the rest of the year, they kept calling! They also ignored my preferences and only would consider sending me to one category of classroom rather than the broad range offered by other agencies. Nearly 2 years later, I've contacted them from time to time as I think I'm still on their books and nothing's ever come of it. They're just crap.

I worked for them in the past. Very little work. Spoke to my consultant a few times he said he would phone me back- didn't. They hardly ever reply to your emails and remember next to nothing about you when they talk to you.

Bad experience. First of all, when I registered with them, they lost some of my original documents so I had to go back to the office when they found them. After that they never called me for work. I called them several times, they always told me that they were going to call me back but it never happened. Even I emailed them many times but they never replied either. When you call them, they never give you an explanation, they just say they are going to call you back later. I have been working with a few agencies as a TA, nursery nurse and teacher and I have to say that Destination Education is the worst agency in London. At least, they could listen to you if you have any queries.
