Working with Career Teachers has been a very interesting experience. I have been a teacher of MFL all my life, although in a different country. Career teachers were the first to really contact me, after having sent hundreds of CV everywhere. I am thankful for having seen my potential as a MFL teacher in the British system. Their specialists are in fact a group of patient, available and caring people that provide a really personalized service. In fact, the Customer Service is so good that I manage to feel part of the team and doing what I can not to let them down. I have been doing cover work but I long to have my own classroom, my own students and my own lessons. I feel confident that Career Teachers will help me to get there.

The costumer service at Career Teachers is outstanding. Supply teaching is not an easy job and when people on the other end of the line make you feel valued and genuinely care about your needs, it is a much better start to the day, everyday. The rate of pay is negotiable and it is important to keep a check and see if pay may be raised after a while to reward your loyalty and good services. As far as the quality of the schools is concerned, Career Teachers' advisers are always very honest and supportive of your decisions. They do deal with some challenging school in London but that is only the nature of this area. They will warn you before and ask how comfortable you are with it and I think they know very well not to consider certain individuals for schools that are too far away from their ideals. I would recommend this agency warmly above all others as my experience has been very positive.

My name is Jessica and I am 24 years old from Australia. I finished my teaching degree in Melbourne last year before deciding to relocate to live in London. I was extremely nervous to come and teach in the UK, especially as I was a NQT with no previous teaching experience. I joined Career Teachers before I left Australia and they have been absolutely fantastic. From the moment I joined there has always been someone to talk to for advice and for help with anything I needed. Before I left I had many questions to ask, some that I felt were silly, however my Australian consultant was very patient, understanding and helpful and took the time to answer any questions; large or small that I had. Furthermore Career Teachers helped me to organise everything I needed, from visas, to accomadation all of the ins and outs that came with relocting they were happy to help. Since arriving in the UK the assistance that I have received has been maintained at a high level. I was working at schools within my second week of arriving in London and this was throughout a quiet period of the accademic year. Stuart and Louise have been particularly helpful and I now have regular work at schools that are easily accessible from my house. Not only have Stuart and Louise been remarkable but everyone at Career Teachers are always willing to answer questions or help out when I call. I have also attended an interactive whiteboard information night as well as a phonics workshop and I found both to be highly useful and informative. As well as the workshops being great, the teacher party that I have attended was heaps of fun and a great social network to be involved in. Overall I am really happy with Career Teachers and I would highly recommend them to anyone that is considering joinging this agency.

After reading many reviews on this page, I am quite shocked by some people's feeback. This agency has done nothing but support me in my career in London. My agent (Wayne McErlane) has bent over backwards continually ensuring that I have long term supply work in schools. I have recommnded this agency to many people and will continue to do so for a long time. I have only the hgihest praise for them. As for those who speak of the quality of schools, you are in London. It is a tough atmosphere. Pinning your shortfalls on those who gave you work will not aid your development in your career.

A brilliant agency! From the moment I signed up with this agency back home, they have been fantastic and very helpful. Everyone that I was in contact with at the agency was went out of their way to assist me and get me work at decent schools. I've gained so much knowledge from all the schools I have been to over the past year and it was great how they offered training courses during half terms which developed my teaching skills and allowed me to familiarise with the curriculum in the UK. I'm grateful for the experiences i've had teaching and living in the UK, if it wasn't for Career Teachers I wouldn't have made the move! Thank you for absolutely everything Career Teachers, it has been a life-changing experience.

Great agency. I have been here for 9 months now and have only good stuff to stay. I work mainly in east and north and the schools are pretty decent. You have to have an open mind and see for yourself-there are some great schools out there! Pay is pretty decent and the cOnsultants are good. They also treat you like they know you, unlike my other agency where I feel like just a number! Offered help by Mike when I was planning my trip and advised me on accommodation and found me somewhere. This was my biggest concern so this was a big help. My advice is to be prepared to travel uP to an hour and be flexible on the age you will have a go at. I had never taught kindy(nursery) before London and now I love it. Downside? Bit quiet at the end of terms but so is my other agency. Good guys and I recommend them.

My first week with Career I was promised a 5 day supply gig, one tube stop away from my home. Sounded to good to be true. It was!!! That totally fell through and I was strung along that entire week by Career. Since then I get a random phone call about once every 10-14 days. They are very unorganized and do not offer a personal experience. I would not recommend this agency.

I'm a high school teacher - was still given the theres plenty of work, as much as you want speach. I did not get any work for 6 weeks. So by the time I got a little bit here and there I was in so much debt I was never getting out. I think I got a total of 10 days in 6 months! PLEASE do not pin your hopes on one agent, especially not this one. Be prepared to have to do other types of work. I had to basically ring them every day for work in the morning telling them (as they suggested) I was ready to go, even then they didnt give me anything. A horrible agent to work for.

So far So good with Career Teachers! I think the staff is super friendly and down to earth (No one sounds as happy as them at 7 in the morning). Been working everyday for a few weeks now and I thoroughly enjoy almost all of the schools I go to! I think your attitude and personality has a lot to do with enjoying your time here with them, and more so your teaching abilities. Bottom line is this, if you're confident that you're a good teacher you will go in and be a good teacher and get called back to schools and therefore build up a good repore. You cannot expect work everyday if you arrive late, leave early and have a bad attitude. Thankfully majority of the schools I've been to are ones I get called back at. Overall, I love teaching here and I'm glad I chose Career Teachers to start off my career. I have, and will continue to recommend them to other amazing teachers!

Career teachers are brilliant! I cant believe some of the negative experiences people have put up here. I came from overseas, no money and at the start of the two week snow out in jan 2009- these guys looked after me and could tell by the fact the schools I went to for supply were on the opposite side of town and there were obviously teachers living way closer than me.. those couple days a week sorted me out. they are straight up with money, the school and the kids and These guys know the game- london kids need savvy teachers and if you send shit teachers to inner city schools you don't get their business. If you make a good impression at the school they know they have a winner and will sort you out.... your a good investment.I definitely recommend career teachers if you know your stuff, your on the ball and you love teaching they can provide great opportunities.

I really like this agency and the consultants are really personable and honest. Their rates of pay are good too. Schools I have been to have been really nice and friendly, no dreadful schools, just average London schools but mostly the schools are outstanding. Work is quite slow and quiet but they do keep in regular contact with me. I think they are great, shame not everyone has had the experience I have. I think things are changing in the world of supply teaching and this is, unfortunately having a knock-on effect on the amount of work people are getting.

Not working much with this agency and not much feedback from them. I have to chase them for work all the time. I'm being proactive and calling and emailing and letting them know I'm available and very little response from this agency. If it's a problem with me as a teacher I have not heard or received any feedback from the agency. I wouldn't recommend them.

These people are very nice. That is until you enter their web of deception. To be honest, i believe they are all business school drop-outs. It is not even the cheap suits, but the fact that they are so obsessed with making sure "you are the best product they can provide for their clients". To be given less than one weeks work in one month, is testimony that you had better get popular quick! If not you will be living on the cold London streets, without even a blanket. While they sip exotic coffees in their high-rise building.

Stay away! Signed up with this agency in Canada, moved to London, was given little to no work. Was unable to pay basic bills. Spent a fortune relocating. Was promised $500 to cover air fair to London and never received it. Called and emailed the agency constantly, asking for work. Was assured work would pick up but never did - always the same excuses. Ended up spending a large amount of my savings to stay afloat in this expensive city. Forced to use their payroll company which took large portions of my earrings in fees. What little work I was given was in one of London's worse neighborhoods. Poor quality of schools. Always seemed to be different consultants in the office which made it difficult to develop a rapport with anyone. I regret using this agency.

"I signed up with this agency while I was still in Canada and everything they offered me sounded amazing. Unfortunately it was all LIES and nothing that they promised was there after I spent all of this money moving to London. I would never suggest this agency to anyone. After I confronted them regarding this they simply stopped contacting me or answering emails and left me stranded in London with no choice but to sign up with other agencies who turned out to be WAYYY better." - I agree with this post COMPLETELY. I have NEVER been treated so poorly by an agency. I was living here for 3 months, and only worked NINE days! Then I signed up with Smart Teachers, and I worked more for them in the past 2 weeks than I have for Career in the 3 months that I've been here.

I would never deal with this teaching agency again or ever recommend them. I spent 4 months in the UK (one of the most expensive countries) without work and the agency just basically told me it wasn't their problem. Everything they tell you is a lie.

So I came over to London, UK already signed up with Career Teachers not knowing what to expect. What started off as a 6month venture, quickly turned into 2years. I think that CT made my decision to stay longer that much easier, since I always had work 5days a week. In meeting other people, working for other agencies, I was surprised to learn that they often were signed up with 3-4 other agencies since they didn't get enough daily supply work from just one. In my experience with CT that was never the case. I would definitely recommend CT and a bonus is they also pay for your flight!

Career Teachers is a great agency that provides educators a chance to go overseas and teach. Once you arrive in London there is an orientation that will give you information about the school systems and on the transportation systems i.e train, tube etc Overall, I had a great experience in London and would recommend it for anyone who wants to try teaching in England.
